Who Is Mister Q?

Mister Q is Naushad Qayyum - Mental Health Advocate, Educator, and Broadcaster.

Naushad is a passionate advocate for mental health, a seasoned educator, and a media professional with over two decades of experience in radio broadcasting and voiceover artistry. His work has been instrumental in raising awareness on key societal issues, particularly men’s mental health, addiction, domestic violence, and community well-being and sits on the panel group for the West Yorkshire Police

His professional journey began in the IT sector, where he worked as an analyst and trainer for nine years. In 2011, driven by his love for teaching and community engagement, he transitioned into education, equipping individuals with essential skills for personal and professional growth.

However, Naushad’s most profound transformation came through personal tragedy. In March 2018, on what was meant to be the happiest day of his life -his wedding day -he lost his father. The devastating loss, coupled with the challenges of divorce and a diagnosis of PTSD, led him down a difficult path of grief and self-discovery. Instead of succumbing to the pain, he turned his struggle into purpose, becoming a vocal advocate for men’s mental health.

As a non-executive director for HumansBeing, Naushad has played a key role in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and has helped raise over £100,000 to support mental health initiatives. His advocacy extends to workshops, radio programs, and public speaking engagements where he shares his story to inspire resilience and encourage open conversations about mental well-being.

Naushad is also the author of Alive Today, a powerful memoir that chronicles his journey through loss, mental health struggles, and personal growth. His book serves as a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges, encouraging them to seek support and embrace healing.

Through education, broadcasting, and activism, Naushad remains dedicated to his mission: empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and transforming pain into progress.

A Shared Experience

I've experienced sever mental health struggles first-hand, and my book, Alive Today catalogues my journey from the original trauma point I experienced to my continued journey of recovery.

Writing my book and re-living my experiences first-hand helped me face and embrace my pain. It has been integral to my recovery and now, I hope to share with others in the hope it will offer support and guidance, in addition to increase mental health awareness.

Free Mental Health Recovery Journal

I wanted to help others who might be experiencing similar feelings of despair or depression, so my book includes a dedicated wellness and recovery journal with tried and tested methods to help catalogue your thoughts and feelings as you navigate your path to wellness.

"Naushad's narrative is emotionally gripping, offering readers a glimpse into the depths of his experiences. The book highlights the importance of seeking support during difficult times and sheds light on the impact of significant people in our lives. Naushad's journey provides validation and understanding for those who have faced childhood trauma or the loss of a loved one."
